Saint John, N.B., May 28th, 1935

The Mahaney quadruplets, Christmas presents in 1924 to William Mahaney, Saint John carpenter, extended congratulations and best wishes to-day to the Dionne quintuplets on their first birthday.

The three pretty 11-year-old girls--Edna Louise, Edith May and Lydia Christine--and their brother, John Douglas, hope the five little quints have "lots of cake, presents and candies." Mrs. Mahaney wished Mrs. Dionne "the best of luck."

Edith May likes Marie Dionne best and sent her a special greeting. "She's so fat and cute," Edith explained.

"I like Marie best, too, but I like Cécile next," Lydia Christine said.

Edna Louise thinks Yvonne is the nicest quintuplet, because "she looks so sweet."

Unanimously the quadruplets expressed the hope they might be able to visit the Callander babies some day, but Mrs. Mahaney told her children they should learn to speak French first.

"Well, we'll learn French in grade six next year," said Edna Louise. "So we'll be able to speak to them then."

"I hope they send us a piece of their birthday cake," wished Lydia Christine. "The quints are too small to eat it anyway," put in John.

"If they do we'll Iet them come to summer camp with us when they are older," promised Edith May.

"I wish they lived next door," John suddenly wished.

"Yes, and we could bring them over presents," added Edith May.
